Student Organizations
Student organizations provide students involved in College Career Academies programs of study opportunities for the development of occupational and employability skills, experiences in leadership and citizenship activities, and recognition for their accomplishments.
Students have the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills learned in the classroom to competition. Student Organizations provide opportunities for students to compete regionally, state-wide, and even nationally in competitions that are related to their career and technical program of study.
Student Organizations can be used as an instructional tool that can be integrated into any College Career Academies curriculum. Many of the resources used within a student organization can also be utilized in the classroom and coursework can be applied to the various competitions that are offered through student organizations.
Students can chose to be involved in various service activities that provide support to their community and promote leadership skills and civic responsibility.
Student organizations also provide numerous opportunities for students to network with business and industry, earn scholarships, and meet new people.
The College Career Academies support several student organizations. These include Health Occupations Students Of America (HOSA) , Business Professionals of America (BPA), Skills USA and Future Educators Association.
As new academies are offered this list of student organizations will grow to reflect organizations relevant to future academies.
